Service Description

Heartsaver courses are designed for the general public. Course options are listed below. TOPICS COVERED: --Recognition of someone who needs CPR --Adult CPR and AED use --Opioid-associated life-threatening emergencies --Child CPR and AED use --Infant CPR --Adult, child, and infant choking --Optional module(s) in child CPR and AED use and infant CPR, including child and infant choking --Optional exam CLASS FORMAT: This is a Blended Learning Class Blended learning is a combination of eLearning, in which a student completes part of the course in a self-directed manner online at the American Heart Association eLearning website, followed by a hands-on session at Fresh Start CPR. STEP # 1 - eLearning American Heart Association eLearning courses give students the flexibility to learn at their own pace and on their own schedule, anywhere and anytime an internet connection is available. eLearning courses are fully self-directed, and do not require a separate skills testing. STEP #2 - Hands-On Sessions for Skills Practice and Testing at Fresh Start CPR Facility Students must complete a hands-on session to obtain an AHA course completion card. With AHA blended learning, students will practice and test skills to ensure competency during the hands-on session. Hands-on sessions are conducted in person with an Fresh Start CPR Instructor or by using a Voice Assisted Manikin (VAM), where available. These skills sessions focus on meaningful skills practice, debriefing, team scenarios, discussions of local protocols, and skills testing. CANCELLATION POLICY: Purchase of a class is NON-REFUNDABLE, but may be rescheduled within 60 days from purchase. Textbooks will be provided.
